
Rising Stars Summer Theatre Camp
Call for Director Applications

Sterling Playmakers will again be offering a theatre summer camp for local youth. This will be a two-week camp in late June and early July 2022. Camp hours will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. Registration should be limited to rising 3rd graders through rising 9th graders.
The Camp Director can either can design a curriculum offering theater classes (acting, singing, dancing, costuming, lights, sound, stage combat etc…) with a showcase performance on the final day or can select a play or musical for campers to rehearse and help with tech aspects (costumes, props etc) and perform the show on the final day.

Job Description
The Summer Camp Director is responsible for nearly all of the planning and administration of the summer theatre camp. Where possible, the Camp Director will be supported by the Board of Directors and a team of volunteers. The Camp Director will attend monthly Sterling Playmakers Board meetings to provide status updates.
Prior to camp, the Summer Camp Director will plan programs to reflect camp guidelines, recruit and select staff including junior counselors, and create a budget to be presented to the Board of Directors for approval. Among other administrative duties is the supervision of safety for campers and staff. This is an evolving, supervisory position with other duties arising as required.
The summer camp administrator will receive a $1500 stipend.
Minimum Qualifications
A qualified candidate should have at least one season of education or camp administration experience. The candidate should have the ability to supervise staff and campers and the ability to plan, develop, organize and carry out day and special programs. Sterling Playmakers Board of Directors will not be considering applicants under the age of 18.
