Traveling Group Director Application

Instructions

  1. Fill out form completely.

  2. Follow the guidance in each section.

  3. Submit the form by September 6, 2024. You may optionally print a hard copy of the form and scan and mail it to Sterling Playmakers Traveling Groups Director Selection, P.O. Box 1611, Sterling, VA 20167, or email it to director@sterlingplaymakers.com. Forms received after the deadline may not be considered.

  4. After reviewing the applications, the Playmakers’ Board of Directors may send you questions regarding your application and concept. A prompt response is appreciated. Plan to attend a Board of Directors meeting on October 1, where you will make a short presentation for your concept and directorial approach. You will be contacted with a specific time and location for the meeting.

  5. If you are not already a member, you must join the Sterling Playmakers if selected to be a director. Membership forms are available at www.sterlingplaymakers.com.

  6. The tenure for the director of our ongoing productions (WSPR and On That Note) is January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2026.

Please provide a letter of interest. This letter should include an overview of your vision for the group and why you believe you’re a good fit for the position. Provide answers to the questions listed on this application. These questions are provided to help you brainstorm rather than being required for every application.

Attach a copy of your theatrical resume, including all positions you officially held for the productions. Include the name of the group that sponsored the show, the year it performed, and the type of production (e.g., musical, full-length, one-act, scene, variety show.)
